About the firm
A steady hand on the mid-coast market since 2006.
Adler & Associates represents buyers and sellers of distinctive coastal property between Rockland and Belfast. We are small on purpose, and thorough by habit.
Our beginning
How we Began
Margaret Adler opened the firm above a chandlery on Camden's Bay View Street with two clients and a conviction that mid-coast Maine deserved representation as considered as its architecture. Eighteen years later, the office has grown; the conviction has not changed.
We work the harbors from Rockland to Belfast, along with the quiet inland towns most brokerages overlook. Every listing we take, we know first-hand: the tide line, the road in winter, the neighbor two houses down. That knowledge is the whole of what we sell.

The way we Work
Fewer clients, closer attention
We deliberately limit our roster so that the broker you meet is the broker who negotiates, attends inspection, and answers the phone at nine on a Sunday. No handoffs, no junior stand-ins.
Honest counsel first
Sometimes the right advice is to wait a season, to price lower, or to walk away. We give it plainly. A relationship that outlasts a single transaction is worth more to us than any one commission.
The coast, in detail
Setbacks, shoreland zoning, well and septic, right-of-way to the water: the particulars that decide a mid-coast deal. We surface them early, before they surface at the closing table.
A word from the founder
Margaret Adler
“A house on the coast is rarely a simple transaction. It is a decision people carry for a long time. Our job is to make sure it is the right one, and to make the getting-there feel unhurried.”
Margaret has brokered mid-coast property since the late nineties and founded the firm in 2006. She lives in Rockport with a stubborn old sloop and an opinion about every harbor from here to Stonington.
